Rock, Roll And Remember Concert Benefits Scholarship

FLORENCE, Ala. - The memory of Jon Parks and University of North Alabama alumni Brian Vick and Michael McCarthy will be honored this Saturday, when Gone Arye, Gary Nichols and Hillbilly Delux take to the stage for one of this year's Rock, Roll and Remember tribute concerts. Parks, Vick and McCarthy were killed on a flight home from Tunica when their single-engine plane crashed in northeast Mississippi on Aug. 19, 2001.
Saturday's concert will begin at 8 p.m. at Side Pockets in Florence. Cover charge is $5, with proceeds benefiting UNA's Brian Vick/Jonathan Parks/Michael McCarthy Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student majoring in music.
